Sustainable development is about "meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs."

It recognises that the welfare of society, the environment and the economy are closely linked, and that the actions we take should be influenced by their effect on all three of these issues.


Sustainable development is a process, not an end in itself, and should be part of every decision we make.
